Email should be the most predictable revenue line in the business.
I'm Dane Holmgren. I build email programs and then run them: strategy, segmentation, automated flows, campaign calendars, copy, and the reporting that shows what worked.
Two programs I built and ran.
Each result covers the scope and reporting period described. Happy to open the accounts and walk through them live.
Turned a launch-dependent list into a year-round revenue channel.

- Situation
- Dustin Watten had built a big, engaged audience around his volleyball training brand. The list only heard from him during launches, so revenue spiked and then went flat. No nurture in between, and no segmentation behind the sends.
- My role
- Owned it end to end. Strategy, segmentation, automation builds, campaign copy, QA, send calendar, monthly reporting.
- What I built
- A welcome and nurture sequence for new subscribers, a weekly newsletter with a real editorial calendar, segmented launch campaigns, and post-purchase follow-up so people stayed warm between cycles.
- Result
- 44% more email-attributed revenue year over year. Open rates held between 46% and 67% on sends to 6,000–7,600 recipients.

Built a welcome flow that converts one in ten subscribers.
- Situation
- New subscribers got a confirmation email and then nothing until the next campaign went out. The most interested people on the list, at the moment they were most interested, were being ignored.
- My role
- Built the whole flow. Sequence design, copy, build, goal tracking, and QA.
- What I built
- A three-email welcome sequence with a defined exit goal, so conversion could be measured instead of guessed at. People who convert stop receiving the rest of the sequence.
- Result
- 2,917 subscribers entered and 297 completed the goal, a 10.2% conversion rate. 52.8% open rate across 5,939 sends, and 99% of people finished the flow.

The funnel I build, in order.
Five stages, and they only work in sequence. Skip one and the next stops paying.
Capture
Turn forms, events, and referrals into permissioned contacts, tagged by where they came from. Clean data at the door or nothing downstream works.
Nurture
Segment by interest and intent, then be useful before asking for anything. Most dead lists died here.
Convert
Campaigns and automations built around one decision, with the offer, the timing, and the audience matched on purpose.
Onboard
Get new customers to the next right action fast. What happens in week one decides how long they stay.
Retain
Engagement triggers, win-backs, referrals, renewals, and the reporting that says which of them is actually paying.
Platforms I operate, not just name.
I build the flows, wire the integrations, and pull the reports myself.
Day to day that means audience research and segmentation, automated flows, campaign calendars, subject lines and body copy, A/B tests, deliverability and list hygiene, and monthly reporting.
Who's actually doing the work.
I'm Dane Holmgren. I run Destination Email Marketing from the Monterey Peninsula, building email programs for coaching, education, and service businesses.
Most businesses treat email as an afterthought (a newsletter when someone remembers, a promo when revenue looks soft). I treat it as a system: capture, nurture, convert, onboard, retain, with real segmentation and reporting underneath it.
What I like about this work is that the feedback loop is honest. You ship a sequence and two weeks later the report tells you whether you were right. That's why I do the operational half too (the builds, the QA, the list hygiene) and not just the strategy.
Let's talk about your email program.
Whether you want the whole thing run for you or a second opinion on what you've already built, start with a call. I'll tell you straight whether email is your bottleneck.
